휴스턴 한인학교는 1977년 설립된 이래 40여년의 긴 역사를 가진 한글 학교이며 우리 아이들을 지적이고, 균형감을 갖추고 문화적으로 깨어있는 미래 사회의 리더로서 성장할 수 있도록 이끌어 왔습니다. 

우리 학교 학생들은 유치부에서부터 고등학교 학생까지 단계별로 고루 분포하고 있으며 또한 전문적 교육을 받은 우수한 선생님들과 성실한 보조 교사 학생들은 우리 학교의 장점입니다.

학생들은 우리 학교에서 한국어 뿐만 아니라 음악, 역사 등 다양한 한국 문화를 함께 배웁니다. 전 세계적으로 한국 문화가 주목을 받으면서 한국 음식은 쉽게 음식점들에서 접할 수 있게 되었고 한국 드라마와 음악도 널리 알려져 있습니다. 휴스턴 한인학교는 이렇게 한국 문화에 큰 관심을 갖고 있는 한인 이외의 외국인들에게도 수업의 기회를 제공하고 있습니다.

휴스턴 한인학교는 앞으로도 휴스턴 사회에서 적극적인 한국 문화 홍보대사로써 한인 사회의 문화적 교류를 넓히고 지속적인 성장을 할 것으로 기대합니다.

 

The Houston Korean School (HKS) was established in 1977, and has a lengthy history of producing intelligent, well balanced, and culturally aware children, who are now leaders in the community.

HKS serves children from pre-kindergarten through high school.  Much of the credit lies in its highly educated teachers and committed student volunteers.

Children attending the School, can expect significant exposure to the Korean language, music, and history that can be fully experienced with cultural trips to Korea.  Korean culture has experienced tremendous gains popularity across the globe, Popular Korean food is now offered some western restaurants.  K-drama and K-pop music is some of the most viewed and listened to, across the world.  HKS offers special classes to satisfy the interests from this non-Korean community.
